I'm going to have to say Mccain. Not because I am excited about him in ANY way, but because I think his views are closer to my own than Obama's, especially on moral issues. (and I think those are the most important!) That is my opinion anyway, and I don't expect everyone to share that opinion with me. I also still respect the opinions of those who disagree with me. I think if the Country goes into the direction that Obama wants to take it, it will be a very sad thing. It all sounds very good to a lot of people, and I think he has wrapped it in a very nice little package that speaks to a wide variety of people who just like the rest of us, all want change. But I don't think we are ready for the kind of change that Obama wants. (I hope we never are).
With that being said, Britt, you don't have to worry about there ever being any hard feelings between Kyle and me. I think we can still respect each others opinions even though we don't agree.:) Like you said, it's all just a good healthy debate.

McCain!! Not Obama! Honestly I don't like either but McCains views are closer to mine! I think we are screwed either way! I just don't trust Obama! I mean look at the people who surround him and influence him... its kinda scary!
He also has no respect for our national anthem and what we do to show respect for the flag! His wife, well I wont start on her but she said she has never been proud of this country. wow. Obama just speaks well and lures people in ha ha. well thats my opinion! we will just have to wait and see...

I wanted to say I'm voting for mcCain but then I realized that... Hey, I'm not a mindless drone.

Just because something is comfortable does not make it right.

It will soon be called "the black house"

Yay for Obama!! I LOVE that he is our new president and Bush is outta here!! I voted for Obama because I agree with his views. I agree that everyone deserves healthcare in this country. Maybe not free, but everyone should be able to get covered. I agree that tax breaks should be afforded to the working, not just the wealthy. I like his stance on school loans and like the idea of students doing community service to pay down their student debt.
Abortion: Fine, I'll touch on it. I am not a political scholar by any means, but I just have a hard time understanding how abortion plays such a big role in what candidate you are voting for. The reason being: It just never seems to change! Republican candidates get so many votes just by screaming they are Pro-Life, but yet, it just never seems to change when they get in office. Look at Bush, during his terms women could still go to Planned Parenthood and get abortions any time they wanted. It's like that with every president-regardless of party, and so I just wonder why so many people I know discount every other issue and vote solely based on the abortion issue when once the candidate gets into office, it seems to become a non-issue. Like I said: It just never seems to change.
Gay Rights: Such a touchy subject! But I thought this article was interesting.
http://cbs5.com/local/steve.young.prop8.2.853885.html It was about Steve Young and his wife Displaying "Vote No on 8" signs in their yard. That must take some serious guts as a prominent member of the church to come out and campaign against banning gay marriage. They said: "We believe all families matter, and we do not believe in discrimination, therefore, our family will vote against Prop. 8."

Wow.

Anyway, Yay for Obama. I'm excited for a change. The thing about him not respecting the National Anthem. That's just dumb...
