We are going to New York City!

Okay so this trip has been a long time in the making.  Neither Brittany or I have ever been to the nation's largest city and we are so excited to go.  Besides experiencing the hussle and bustle of the city, Brittany is excited to go to a broadway show so we got tickets to see Lion King and The Late Show with David Letterman, I am pumped to go as well.

As some of you know I am architecture student at Newschool of Architecture in San Diego.  But, only a few of you may know that I am urban enthusiast and facinated by cities and planning.  So with that said, I feel that I am an underdeveloped person (student/enthusiast) not having gone to the city that never sleeps.  I am so excited to go
see the things that we have been talking about in class and the things that I have been
reading about for years.

I have this weird calling to New York, it's like this inate drive to be there and experience it.  I feel that in the architectural industry (and more so the type of work that I want to be doing when I graduate) I feel that there is a good chance that we will be living in New York for some given time.

Anyway, we will post pics and stories we bring back with us in about a week.

That sounds like so much fun. I am a little bit jealous. I do agree that someone as passionate as you about urban living does need to see NYC. Can we come and visit you guys if you end up there?

I am so jealous of you guys right now. We had a 5 hour layover in New York. I could see the city calling my name, but we didn't leave the airport. Steph and I decided that we will have to make a special trip this summer. Have fun!

Okay from a New York Veteran...j/k...I have been a few times though. Hopefully you get guests for the David Letterman Show because ours sucked and so our Letterman show was not so fun...oh and wear nice clothes to the letterman show and talk with the people that are on the letterman crew while you are waiting in line...all these things help you to be able to sit on the bottom floor closest to the stage! Oh and try to make it early...you have to stand in line...but what do you do. Try to eat at the corner vendors...they are the cheapest but are pretty good food...no lie. You have to go to China town, there's a name for it, where you buy the good knock off purses and stuff...crap I really wish I remembered the name. Battery Park is a good place to buy fun knock off cheaper stuff in the spring summer time.
Shows you HAVE to see...Wicked (first and for most) you can't go to New York and NOT see wicked. If Spelling Bee is playing you should put you name in the raffle that they do a 1/2 hour before the show at the theatre and if they draw your name you get tickets for $25.00! It's awesome...WICKED does that too, there are quite a few shows that do raffles so you should put your name in all that you want to see and it's sweet to get into a show for $25.00. 42nd Street is good...Blue Man Group, off broadway, but a good show and you can see it for a lot cheaper than Vegas. Also go to TKTS to get Broadway tickets for 1/2 off...it's in the center of time square just a white tent like thing that has BIG RED letters saying TKTS. If I think of anything else I'll let you know.

I'm so envious of you two right now. I still have not been to NY. You'll have to tell me what fun things you saw. And I'm sure Kyle will be in heaven with the architecture. Be sure to post all the amazing photo's.

I love NYC... How was your trip dawg? Did you say "hi" to Gena and the Rockettes? Seeing the cheesy broadway shows makes me want to be in them! I want you to move there so that you are closer to us! Member how I told you about one time when we were in NY and we were in the projects and it looks like Sesame Street? For real right? It does! Did you see the girls jump roping in the street and the street jamin'? Member how I called you freaking out bc there was a whole neighborhood get down and dirty and all the black kids and grandmas were bustin it. I so wanted to have you go out there with them... Member how I told you that little 3 year old girl said, "You not a Gansta, you a Wangsta!" to her little brother! OMG I had so much fun chillin in the projects! Call me sass and tell me alls abouts its!

p.s. The Lion King broadway rulez huh! The costumes were crazy huh. Did you like how they did the stampede? I am such a sucker for broadways! Also, did you go in the back alley's with the Chinese people to get your Gucci and Prada purse? Good deals man! Did you get to go to SOHO? Did you see the rainbow building and walk down the gay part of town? Steve and I found ourselves on a stroll and we look over and see a rainbow building and think, hum that's interesting. Then we walk further to be surrounded by gay sex stores... lol I am scar-red for life!

Call me saster!
